Li Chao’s Course was Selected in 2018 National Quality Open Online Courses
On Dec. 21st 2018, the course “Programming in C++”which was taught by research associate Li Chao from Web and Software Technology R&D Center, Prof. Zheng Li and associate professor Xu Mingxing from Computer Science Department was selected in 2018 National Quality Open Online Courses. The opening platform of the course is derived from one of the largest online Chinese MOOC platforms supported by Muhua Science and Technology of Tsinghua University and the Online Education Research Center of Ministry of Education. It is also a course of China MOOC Alliance for Computer Education of Universities (CMOOC).
Li Chao has engaged in basic teaching in Computer Science Department since 2010, and has taught Fundamentals and Programming and Programming in C++. From fall of 2011 to now, he has been the chief teacher of a national quality course Object-oriented Programming. In 2015, his course Programming in C++ ranked TOP 5 of the most popular MOOC TOP 10, and was awarded 2016 MOOC Pioneer, the first 10 excellent courses of CMOOC. Li Chao won the second prize of the 7th Young Teachers’ Teaching Competition (Science and Technology Section) of Tsinghua University and was selected to attend EMI training camp at Oxford University in 2016.
China MOOC Alliance for Computer Education of Universities is the largest resource group of MOOC resources of computer science. It has been five years since the founding of the Alliance. As the leader of computer MOOC teaching and the promoter and model of teaching reform in colleges and universities, the Alliance is one of the largest teaching associations in higher education in China. Now it is composed of 550 members and promotes the Teaching Reform based on MOOC in nearly 600 colleges and universities in China.
